Braden Vernon PhD, is a Psychotherapist with specialised training in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP) through the Maudsley Psychiatric Hospital, and advanced training in other evidence-based treatments for personality disorders, including Schema Therapy. He is experienced in working with individuals with a range of personality disorders and specialises in long-term treatments for lasting personality shifts. Braden works both in private practice and in NSW Correctional Centres with forensic populations.
As a member of the International Society of Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (ISTFP), Braden is committed to ongoing clinical training, supervision, and adherence to the rigorous standards of TFP and is a current Psychoanalytic Training Candidate. His approach supports psychological change by using research-informed therapies to explore internal psychological conflicts that shape interpersonal relationships, self-perception, and emotional regulation.

Research
Braden’s doctoral research focuses on personality structure, relational functioning, and the assessment of complex psychological patterns. His research utilises structured clinical interview methods and psychometric assessment tools ( STIPO-R and YSQ) to examine personality structure and functioning in help-seeking, non-offending adults with paedophilic interests. This work aims to contribute to more precise psychological assessment and formulation in this population, and to inform child sexual abuse prevention initiatives.
